How a soldier was murdered in Kwa-kwa
Chief Warrant Officer Endaman was amputated and killed at the weekend in Kwakwa following waves of
unrest in the locality and its environs.
He was on his way to see off his wife and two-year old daughter back to Kumba who had come to spend the festive period with him in Mundemba where he had been serving.
According to a military source, Endaman and his family left Mundemba at 5h30 in the morning alongside another colleague dressed in civillian attire.
On enterring Kwakwa, their vehicle was stopped and surrounding by a group of irrate youths who took them hostage.
The assailants pulled the late officer’s wife out of the vehicle before handing her the sum of FCFA20.000 to go to Kumba and announce the death of her husband to soldiers in the city, our source said.
Endaman was then taken to the bush where he had one of his limbs amputated as he attempted to escape. He was then brutally killed and abandoned in the bush, our military source added.
« The incident happened at about 9 O’ clock in the morning but we were only informed late in the day, » our source said.
His corpse was only discovered late in the afternoon when the military came in for intervention in the village.
Endaman’s colleague only had his life spared after telling the attackers he was a civilian working in a local business in the area.
