Cameroon’s Public Health Minister, in the company of other
cabinet Ministers visited the humanitarian flying eye hospital, Orbis,
stationed at the Yaounde Nsimalen airport today.
The Flying Eye hospital started it’s humanitarian mission in Cameroon
early October and was expected to stay in the country for a month.
Since it’s arrival, the hospital team of eye experts have provided
hands-on training on eye care to medical teams. The hospital’s first two missions took place at the Douala international
airport in 1991 and Yaoundé in 2013. The non-profit has renowned
international eye experts, provides programs for the prevention of
blindness and treats blinding disease in developing countries.
