CPDM Members March To Celebrate Paul Biya's 35th Year As President

His excellency Paul Biya, president of democratic republic of Cameroon celebrates 35 years in power
as president. He assumed office on 6 November 1982 following the resignation of President Ahmadou Ahidjo. He had served 5 years as prime minister before becoming president. Despite all the tension and instability in the country due to the anglophone crises, his party members still marched and celebrated the day. March past also took place in anglophone towns such as Kumba and many others. There was fear of violent reactions from the angry anglophones, but until now, no violence has been heard. Some people were on the opinion that the marching militants were either francophones or government workers who are very comfortable with their jobs and are not affected by the difficulties faced by anglophones. Others even said that those marching will surely be paid off.
