Anglophone crises- the people of the Manyu dision of the South West region insist on an unconditional release of all their people who were arrested

Mamfe is probably the town which has suffered the most loss of souls and public or private property
due to the struggle for freedom. The population of Eyumojock village in Mamfe have insisted on the unconditional release of their brothers and sisters arrested in conection with the Anglophone crisis.
They made their intentions known during meeting convened by the chief of Eyumojock; HRH Ntufam Ita Jacques at the Catholic church hall in the presence of Reverend Father Joseph.
The meeting was also a opportunity for human rights activists, Agbor Balla to consent with the local population in the bid to understand the demands of the people, listen to their worries and probe further into the human rights violations which have been persistent since the start of the crisis.
As a way out of the crisis, the people of Manyu insisted on the safe return from exile of their brothers and sisters and other persons who fled in fear of their safety due to rumors of several names on government lists to be arrested, withdrawal of the military from the region, given the systematic abuses carried out by the army which they say is causing the population to live in fear.
They equally urged the government of Cameroon to guarantee for a safe return for everyone living in refugee camps and shelters in Cross River State, Nigeria and prescribe national dialogue on the Anglophone problem.
Meanwhile, Agbor Balla who is also the founder and Chairman, of the center for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa said, a safe means of transportation for the first groups of people willing to return home, need to be put in place for the return of refugees. “It will be of high importance for us to come together and seek a solution for our brothers, sisters, families and children in refugee camps across the border, to return home. Especially because the living conditions are poor and will expose them to the risk of health problems”.
“For a safe return of the refugees, we also need to coordinate with the authorities in Nigeria, who have been assisting, and the Governor of South West Region must accept a safe passage at the border. For many who cannot return home, we need to mobilize and support them” he added.
