Anglophone political leaders resolve to sought out solutions to the crises through dialogue
Some political leaders and leading members of the civil society of
English expression, have resolved
to work together towards preparing a platform that will guarantee the holding of the long awaited national dialogue which many Cameroonians have proposed as solution to the Anglophone crisis.
The leaders namely, John Fru Ndi, Barrister Felix Nkongho Agbor Balla, Dr. Simon Munzu, Prince Ekosso, Mrs Ndi Christine met in Bamenda, November 26, to brainstorm on the urgent need for frank and comprehensive dialogue as means of returning the North West and South West regions to normalcy.
Going by a press release signed by the aforementioned leaders, Cameroon’s President, Paul Biya was tasked to stop the continues arrest of persons and ensure the release all those arrested in connection with the crisis which has grounded socio-economic activities in English speaking Cameroon for over a year.
In the release, the leaders equally urged the government of Cameroon to facilitate the return of all refugees resulting from the crisis, grant general amnesty to all those who were forced into exile as result of the crisis and put end to internet censorship in the regions.
The leaders equally agreed to meet often with the participation of more political leaders in view of achieving the objectives of dialogue and the related preparatory conference.
