Cameroon – Far North: Two members of the Boko Haram sect killed by the BIR in Walassa
These terrorists were ambushed by the armed forces on the night of Saturday, July 8th.
Two members of the Islamist sect Boko Haram
were shot dead at about 4 am on Saturday in the bush of
Walassa, which
is 7 kilometers from Amchide, in the Far North Region, on Monday 10 July
2017, reports L’ŒIL du Sahel newspaper. According to news
reports, the terrorists were ambushed by the Rapid Intervention Brigade
(BIR), while they were part of a group traveling on four motorcycles,
each carrying three people.
“The four drivers were men and
passengers were women. There were eight women and four men. I think the
women were suicide bombers sent to their targets, “says Amadou Jeremie, chairman of the vigilante comittee of Amchida.
Unfortunately, apart from the two
suicide bombers killed by the BIR, the other ten terrorists ran away,
leaving no trace to find them. A situation that worries all the same
Amadou Jeremie: “What is certain is that they divided into small
groups to rush towards their goals. That is why we must redouble our
vigilance to neutralize them “. It should be noted that in the
border areas at Walassa are part of the supply poles of Boko Haram. Very
often, food is transported with the complicity of the populations of
the said localities.
In the village of Kerawa, two women
kamikazes stuffed with explosives attempted to enter this village on
Sunday, July 9 at around 3 am. But they were stopped by members of the
vigilante committee who were watching.
